Short Bio: Ken Howard is Principal/Partner at Improving Enterprises, a firm which helps its clients improve through its learning, consulting, and outsourcing solutions. Ken has been involved in most aspects of software development for over 23 years with such languages as diverse as COBOL, Smalltalk and Java. As a graduate student studying Operations Research in the late 80’s, Ken visited Motorola plants during their early development of Six Sigma. This inspired him to introduce operational improvements in the software development projects he was responsible for. Many of the practices he employed have long since been cultivated and enhanced by authors and practitioners, are now de facto Agile practices with fancy names. Since that time Ken has worked as a consultant helping companies in 12 countries around the world improve through pragmatic application of practices and processes that are tailored to the unique attributes of the people, organizations, and technologies involved.
